Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) nurse position located at a level 4 trauma care center. This dynamic role involves providing acute care to a diverse patient population, including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and minor injury cases. The position requires critical thinking, procedural skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications, and a minimum of 2 years of ER experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing conscious sedation, critical thinking skills, and familiarity with common drips such as ED physician/mid-level provided medications.
• Float: Float rotation may be required between east and west emergency departments, generally prescheduled.
• Additional Information: The ER handles approximately 80-110 patients daily, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 in general areas, and 1:2 or 1:1 depending on acuity. The department includes dedicated triage and holding areas, trauma beds, and well-equipped seclusion rooms. Staff includes charge nurses, house supervisors, ED techs, paramedics, and RTs. Certifications such as ENPC, NRP, and NIHSS are beneficial. Both RN and phlebotomy draws are performed as needed. The team operates under electronic medical records using the Cerner system. Orientation includes hospital-wide and department-specific training, mentored shifts, and compliance with holiday and weekend rotation requirements.
