Description
Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse position located in an acute care setting. This full-time role involves night shifts, with 12-hour shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. The position requires a dynamic and adaptable nurse capable of managing a diverse patient population with complex needs, including cardiac, respiratory, alcohol withdrawal, and renal failure cases.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 12 hours, 36 hours minimum per week, beginning on 10/26/2026 and ending on 01/25/2027
- Required Qualifications: Valid driver's license; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification; at least 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care or similar setting with experience in cardiac and respiratory care preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with titrating drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone; ability to respond to call-ins within 45 minutes.
- Additional Information: The unit is a 20-bed progressive care unit operating with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 (up to 1:4 in case of medical overflow) during day shifts and 1:7 at night. The team includes charge nurses, house supervisors, nurse aids, monitor technicians, and respiratory therapy equipment such as Cpap, BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula. Unit-specific orientation involves two shifts. Scrub dress code includes any top and pants except purple.
