Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse position located in a hospital setting involves providing comprehensive care for women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. This role includes working closely with OB and pediatric providers within a close-knit team. The position requires adaptability to a rotating shift schedule and cross-training in multiple departments to ensure seamless patient care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week, with rotating weekends and holidays.
• Required Qualifications: Certified in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification; minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery Department.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a high census setting during peak months of May through July.
• Float: OB nurse may float to other units such as Acute Care when OB and nursery are closed, assisting with answering call lights without taking patients.
• Position Responsibilities: Care for patients during labor and postpartum, monitor patient ratios (1:1 during labor, up to 3:1 postpartum), assist with deliveries, and collaborate with OB and pediatric providers.
• Additional Information: The unit maintains a collaborative environment where nurses work closely and engage actively within their department. Scrubs are hospital-provided in teal, and charting is performed using Allscripts, Obix, and Epic systems.
