Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) nurse position located in a healthcare facility. This role involves caring for adult patients in a 30-bed unit that includes Medical Surgical Telemetry and Progressive Care Unit. The clinician must demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry, pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to signing the contract, and be willing to work nights. The position requires flexibility to float to various units, including a Pediatric unit and adult Multi Care Unit, with scheduled weekend and holiday rotations.

Job Details:

• Shift: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts from 07:00 PM to 07:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: BLS and ACLS certifications; minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical Nursing; experience with telemetry reading and interpretation; must pass dysrhythmia exam on hire; willingness to care for both Medical Surgical Telemetry and Progressive Care Unit patients
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in telemetry preferred; ability to precept nursing students
• Float: Float into multi-care and pediatric units to care for adult MS telemetry patients and to the West Campus Medical Surgical Telemetry unit
• Additional Information:
  • Candidates must be willing to attend hospital and unit orientation based on experience.
  • Nurse aides may care for 10-15 patients; RN to provide primary care for 3 patients when no nurse aide is present.
  • Care for stable C-PAP or Bi-PAP patients is required.
  • RNs must be able to read and interpret tele strips, with remote monitor tech support available.
  • Occasional standby or call may be required based on census.
  • Staffing adheres to a 50-bed inpatient hospital setting with assorted unit types.
  • The position involves working every other weekend, with holiday rotation responsibilities.
