Description

Job Summary:
Labor & Delivery Nurse in the L&D specialty is responsible for providing safe, competent, and high-quality patient care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. The role involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, patient education, and adherence to established clinical standards within a hospital setting. This position is based in a busy labor and delivery unit, supporting both routine and high-acuity obstetric cases.

Job Details:

Schedule: Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with an average of 11.5 hours per shift and a minimum of 34.5 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: NYS Registered Nurse license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), 2 years of labor and delivery nursing experience, a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, 1 year of travel nursing experience (not required for per diem roles), and EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) experience highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree with a major in nursing preferred; Associate degree considered with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program.
Additional Information: The role involves performing charge nurse duties, coordinating supplies and staffing, facilitating patient throughput, and contributing to quality and safety improvement initiatives. The nurse will engage in clinical documentation, clinical and process improvement activities, and support the environment of care. The unit handles an average census of 12-18 beds.
