Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Oncology Floor nurse position located in Richmond, VA. The role involves providing specialized care on a unit dedicated to oncology patients, with a focus on patient-centered approaches and evidence-based practices. Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; no minimum years of experience specified; willingness to work in a hospital setting, with a background in medical-surgical or oncology nursing preferred
• Preferred Qualifications: Oncology certification (preferred but not required); experience with chemotherapy procedures; excellent communication and patient care skills
• Additional Information: This position is part of a dedicated education unit with a focus on improving patient experiences and utilizing new equipment and technology. The unit maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 5-6 to 1 and employs electronic documentation systems such as Meditech. Communication is facilitated through iMobile phones used by staff, physicians, and patients.
