Description

Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in a healthcare facility located in Chattanooga, TN. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to neonatal patients in a Level III or IV NICU, with a focus on infants requiring intensive respiratory and life support. The position offers a night shift schedule with a minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/19/2026 and ending on 01/18/2027.

Job Details:

Schedule: Nights, 36 hours per week with occasional optional overtime, variable weekends, willingness to take standby/call if low census highly preferred.
Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), STABLE certification, at least one year of NICU nursing experience, for a Level III or IV NICU setting, in addition to education requirements and location requirements.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with unit-specific equipment such as Giraffe Omnibed, Panda warmer, Drager ventilator, oscillator, Alaris IV pump, syringe feeding pump, nasal cannula, bubble/vent CPAP, NIPPV, and neo-T resuscitator.
Additional Information: Responsibilities include performing PIV insertions, feeding tube insertions, lab draws, straight catheterization, central line management, airway/respiratory management, and assisting RRT/providers with intubation, surfactant administration, central line placement, and chest tube placement. The hospital has an experienced staff with many nurses having 20-35+ years of NICU expertise, and the unit utilizes Centricity Perinatal and Meditech documentation systems. Attendance at unit-specific policies and guidelines is required.
