Job Summary
Critical Care Nurse, Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) The healthcare provider is seeking a qualified Critical Care Nurse to join the team on night shifts. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for high acuity patients recovering from cardiothoracic surgery, with experience in post-operative management, including specific modalities such as Impella, Balloon Pump, and Artic Sun. The position requires independent practice within a clinical setting and a focus on patient safety and recovery.

Job Details

• Position Description: Critical Care Nurse with experience in CABGs, post-cardiothoracic surgery recovery, Impella, Balloon Pump, Artic Sun, TABLO XT/CRRT, and high acuity patients with multiple comorbidities and drips. Previous experience with Epic electronic health records preferred.
• Education/Skills: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required (American Heart Association only).
• Experience: 1 year of relevant nursing experience preferred; will accept new graduates.
• Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: Current RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state.
• Responsibilities: Provides independent clinical nursing care utilizing the nursing process, assessing psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families, administering medications and treatments, monitoring side-effects, and documenting care.
• Schedule: Night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire, complete organizational entry competency validation, and annual competency requirements.
