Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in a facility environment. This position involves providing specialized care to mothers and newborns within a dynamic labor and delivery unit. The role requires working night shifts and adhering to unit-specific standards for patient care, including supporting deliveries, postpartum care, and triage activities.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, and Stable certification. No minimum experience required, but experience with mother-baby care, deliveries, and neonatal assessments is preferred.
• Preferred qualifications: Mother-baby experience of at least 1 year. Charge nurse experience is a plus.
• Duties: Provide patient care aligned with AWHONN staffing standards, including labor support, delivery assistance, postpartum care, triage, and newborn stabilization. Must be able to attend deliveries, complete newborn care, and manage magnesium administration. Titration of drips such as Pitocin, magnesium, and occasional insulin is required. Support float requirements across multiple sites within the division.
• Additional information: The unit operates with a multidisciplinary team including OB hospitalist and neonatal nurse practitioners available 24/7, with continuous anesthesia support. RNs will utilize tele monitoring, read their own EFM strips, and adhere to hospital policy for scrubs. Orientation consists of 4 shifts on the unit, with onboarding prior to start. Traveler extensions are common, and the role involves working in a diverse patient population.
