Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse position in a high-acuity acute care setting. This role involves providing specialized care for critically ill patients in a combined ICU and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) environment. The position requires proactive patient management, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to critical care protocols.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with weekend work as needed. Must be flexible to support unit needs, including float shifts between ICU and PCU.
• Required Qualifications: Valid and current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications. Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, with proficiency in EPIC electronic health record system and previous travel nursing experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Zoll thermaguard cooling systems and targeted temperature management. Knowledge of titrating standard ICU drips, vasoactive medications, and sedatives.
• Additional Information: The unit operates with a Nurse-to-Patient ratio of 1:1-2 in ICU and 1:3 in PCU. RNs are expected to interpret telemetry strips and read monitor outputs effectively. Staffing includes a charge nurse supporting the entire unit without assigned patients, and in-house hospitalists available 24/7. The respiratory therapy team manages vent and respiratory treatments around the clock. RN float rotation may be required within ICU and PCU zones. The unit fosters a collaborative culture with a focus on teamwork and community engagement.
