Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Specialist This opportunity involves providing advanced care to neonates in a level III NICU setting. The position requires highly skilled neonatal care, including ventilator management, line insertions, and specialized procedures, supporting surgical and cooling cases for neonates 23 weeks and up.

Job Details

• Certifications: BLS, NRP
• Education Requirements: Valid CA State License, 1 year of experience
• Location Requirements: Must hold a valid CA State License
• Years of Experience: 1 year minimum, 1 year preferred
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Clinical responsibilities include managing neonates < 24-28 weeks, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), administering surfactants and steroids, and line management (PICC, UAC, UVC).
• Procedures: PICC, bronchoscopy, LISA, VCUG, MRI, swallow studies, line insertions.
• Patient Care: Surgical, cooling, all respiratory modes, neonatal abstinence syndrome.
• Unit Details: Interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory and radiology services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and social services; daily census of 23 neonates with 29 rooms and 35 beds.
• Schedule details include 3 x 12-hour nights, with no call and every other weekend.
• Additional Job Requirements: Completed orientation of 60 hours, 7-day work history verification, submission of current licensure, certifications, and references, and compliance with onboarding timelines.
