Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Nights Location unspecified. This role involves providing specialized critical care to adolescent (rare, ages 15-17 if adult-like), adult, and geriatric patients with complex medical needs including post-surgical, neuro, cardiac, and respiratory conditions. The position requires working three 12-hour night shifts per week, with the schedule commencing on October 5, 2026, for a 13-week contract.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license in Maryland or a Compact State, BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIH Patient Population experience of at least 2 years, including experience with MICU, SICU, neuro, cardiac, and ventilated patients. Minimum of 2 years of specialized ICU experience. Certifications required also include CPI, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Schedule: 3 nights per week, 12 hours each shift, a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Patient Care: Care for patients with diagnoses such as MI, pneumonia, sepsis, ARDS, cardiogenic shock, post-cath, and surgical abdominal, neuro cervical spines, or post-ops.
• Procedures & Equipment: Management of pressors, sedations, vents, CRRT (preferred next stage experience), IABP, prone positioning (preferred). Use of vents, CRRT, IABP, and proning therapy expected.
• Special Skills: Managing arterial lines, ports, chest tubes, blood products, ECMO, PIV lines, complex pharmacology, neuro assessments, and ventilator management.
• Additional Information: Float within ICU, CCSU, and lower acuity units is required. No on-call duties, but potential for shift coverage if staff call out. The role involves working in a unit with interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams.
