Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) registered nurses are sought for a position within a hospital's obstetric unit. This role involves providing comprehensive care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines and patient safety standards. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team in a busy setting, supporting a high volume of births.

Schedule: Days shift, 11.5 hours per shift, minimum of 34.5 hours per week

End Date: 01/12/2027
Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; at least 3 years of labor and delivery experience; current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); proficiency circulating C-sections; experience titrating drips such as Oxytocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Insulin; knowledge of AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios; familiarity with Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) systems, specifically Centricity Perinatal; ability to identify basic and life-threatening rhythms; and experience in a high-volume obstetric unit.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Electronic Fetal Monitoring through NCC or advanced fetal monitoring certification; working with multidisciplinary teams including midwives, obstetricians, and neonatologists available 24/7.
Additional Information: The unit maintains a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) adjacent to the labor and delivery area. No tele/monitor techs are present. The nursing team self-schedules shifts, with a 3-day orientation involving a preceptor and potential additional triage days. The unit operates with a 2 trauma level, and staff are expected to assist with staffing gaps as needed.
