Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position located in a busy urban facility. The role involves providing critical care to adult and pediatric patients with high-acuity conditions, including stroke, STEMI, trauma, and abdominal pain. The ER is equipped with a dedicated Trauma Level IV designation, working towards Level III status, and manages a wide variety of urgent cases in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, scheduled from 1:30 PM to 2:00 AM, 3:30 PM to 4:00 AM, and 7:30 PM to 8:00 AM, with weekends as needed. Shifts may include a mix of start times; staff will never work a late shift followed by an early shift.
• Required Qualifications: Valid licenses to practice as a registered nurse, current certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course). Minimum of 2 years of ER experience, with preference for candidates with trauma background, from larger urban hospital settings.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-acuity patient care including stroke, STEMI, trauma, and pediatric stabilization. Familiarity with rapid assessment zones and high-pressure environments.
• Additional Information: The facility policies include a 50-mile radius restriction for candidate submission. Orientation consists of 1 shift on the floor following hospital and Epic system orientation. ER staffing includes at least one physician and one advanced practice provider per shift. RT staff are on-site 24/7 for ABGs and breathing treatments. Emergency monitoring is done via SpaceLabs cardiac monitors with RN interpretation. The ER has dedicated trauma and psych rooms, along with a separate triage area and rapid assessment zones. The environment is high-volume, handling approximately 170 patients daily, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5.
