Job Summary:
MedSurg (Medical Surgical Floor) Registered Nurse (RN) West Union, IA. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a 25-bed critical access hospital specializing in medical-surgical services. The position is a 13-week contract beginning on 10/12/2026, with a focus on independent work, teamwork, and operational resilience.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour days shifts, working 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Iowa RN license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Minimum of 2+ years of experience in the specialty area, with previous experience working in a Critical Access Hospital preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: EPIC charting experience (preferred).
• Float: Float to like units as needed at a Critical Access Hospital.
• Additional Information: The role encompasses responsibilities on a 25-bed unit including Med/Surg, OB, and postpartum sections, with patient ratios generally between 1:3 to 1:5. Willingness to assist and train less experienced nurses, and ability to work as a charge nurse backup are highly valued. The hospital operates with rotating shifts for day and night schedules, dependent on operational needs. Candidates must initiate compliance processes within 48 hours of accepted offer, or 24 hours for a quick start.
