Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Department position available in a healthcare facility located in Sheboygan, WI. This role involves providing comprehensive care to obstetric patients from active labor through post-partum transitions. The position requires collaboration with a skilled team to support low-risk patients and assist with obstetric surgeries and post-delivery care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, with a schedule cycle of six weeks; scheduled by the lead RN, two weeks prior to start date.
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license with BLS, NRP, and intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring certification; minimum of 2 years of labor, delivery, and postpartum experience; experience with cervical exams, amnio infusions, epidurals, fetal monitoring, IV management, Pitocin, newborn care, and post-partum care.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with post-womens surgeries, assisting with vaginal deliveries, and knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques.
• Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Patients 32 weeks and above, primarily lower-risk pregnancies with conditions such as hypertension, magnesium administration, substance abuse management, epidurals, elevated BMI, and diabetes. Post-delivery care includes continued maternal and newborn care in the same room.
• Patient Ratios: Laboring patients at 1:1, active labor at 1:2, couplets at 1:3.
• Additional Information: Orientation consists of 1-2 days on the unit with facility and unit-specific training. No floating requirements specified. Support staff includes technicians, phlebotomists, a HUC, and support services such as anesthesia, neonatology, and management available during shifts.
• Technology/Equipment: EMR system preferred is EPIC; monitors include QS Centricity; IV pumps are alarms-enabled; Pyxis medication dispensing system.
• Scheduling: Weekend rotation every 4th week; holiday every other; on-call for OB surgical technicians with 4-6 shifts in a six-week period, overnight call only with a 30-minute response time.
