Job Summary:
Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a healthcare facility offering specialized care for patients requiring intermediate level monitoring and treatment. The role involves providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment, following established clinical protocols and collaborating with a seasoned nursing team. The assignment is scheduled to start on October 19, 2026, and last for 13 weeks, with an emphasis on critical assessment and prompt intervention.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Current active compact license; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS); AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); no minimum experience requirement specified but must have at least 2 years as RN including one solid year of stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including travel assignments; recent EPIC charting experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: PIV insertion; stable home ventilators; chest tube or indwelling drain management; Central Blood Infusion (CBI); stable drips such as Lasix and Protonix; blood product administration; continuous BiPap; drain management; neutropenic precautions; strong assessment and critical thinking skills; resilient, social candidates, capable of managing change effectively.
• Additional Information: This role involves float responsibilities within the skill set, including potential float to nearby campuses with minimal notice, and requires pass tele hydration interpretation tests. The unit is a smaller facility with excellent team work and experienced staff, offering opportunities for precepting students and new hires.
• Submission Requirements: Must have current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS.
