Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical Oncology on the oncology floor in a healthcare setting is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This role involves planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care tailored to individual patient needs. The nurse performs assessments based on patient problems or needs, the physicians medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework, while managing and documenting patient care activities. The position emphasizes evidence-based practice standards, providing patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing models.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with weekends and holidays required as needed.
• Required Qualifications: Valid NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license; ASN degree with preferred BSN; minimum of 2 years of experience in acute adult oncology, specializing in leukemia and lymphoma, inpatient setting; certifications including ACLS, BLS, Chemo Certification from the Oncology Nursing Society; hard skills including IV insertion, phlebotomy, basic nursing skills, and experience with acute adult oncology.
• Preferred Qualifications: Telemetry certification, chemotherapy certification provided by ONS.
• Additional Information: The role involves performing therapeutic nursing interventions, managing patient care, advocating for evidence-based standards, and providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Flexibility for floating as required, with other duties as assigned.
