Job Summary:
Critical Care Nurse specializing in Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular at a large, level 1 trauma hospital. This position involves managing critically ill patients across various patient populations, including neuro, cardiac, trauma, and surgical patients. The role requires advanced skills in titrating drips, bedside procedures, and equipment utilization within a dynamic critical care environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating day/night schedule every other week, with shifts totaling a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience within a hospital with over 200 beds and level 1 trauma designation
  • Charge and/or precepting experience
  • Certification in BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Licensure as a registered nurse in either ND or a compact state
  • Experience titrating vasopressor drips as indicated on resume or skills checklist
  • EPIC Electronic Medical Record experience
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with bedside procedures such as RSI, EVD placement, tracheostomy, and line placement
  • Knowledge of equipment including Omnicell Automated Dispensing Cabinets, IV pumps, IABP, EVD, Phillips Monitoring Systems, and Impella devices
• Responsibilities:
  • Management of 1-3 critically ill patients with diverse diagnoses including neuro, cardiac, trauma, and surgical cases
  • Administer and titrate medications and drips such as vasopressors, sedatives, and analgesics
  • Support bedside procedures and operate specialized critical care equipment
  • Floating to all critical care units and med-surg as needed within the facility
• Orientation & Training:
  • 32 hours of total orientation across 1st week, including hospital, unit-specific, intermediate ICU, and Broadway ICU training
• Additional Information:
  • The unit has 32 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2 in ICU settings
  • Dress code is navy scrubs
  • High flexibility with schedule, with guaranteed days off per contract and the ability to trade shifts as needed
