Job Summary
A healthcare organization is seeking a registered nurse specializing in Step Down units to work in an inpatient trauma and general surgery unit. The role involves caring for complex trauma, surgical, and medical patients in a fast-paced environment, requiring high-level clinical skills and experience with intricate wound care and trauma management.

Job Details

• Location: Inpatient Trauma and General Surgery Unit, 7 East a nationally recognized Comprehensive Bariatric Surgery Center, with a capacity of 30 beds (12 Floor, 18 Stepdown).
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
• Qualifications: Valid RN license; minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience required.
• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, with weekend night shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, Monday).
• Additional Information:
  • Must have experience with complex wound care, drains, devices, traumatic injuries, chest tubes, respiratory support, TBIs, and spinal cord injuries.
  • Epic experience and Level 1 trauma experience are deal breakers.
  • Floating to like units (floor/stepdown) may be required.
  • The unit handles multi-trauma, TBI, fractures, general surgery (choles, ostomies), and other medical/surgical conditions.
  • RN staff work collaboratively with multiple departments including care management, surgical, medical, rehabilitation, and perioperative services.
