Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) Waupaca, WI. This position involves working in a Level IV Trauma Center, providing care to higher acuity patients in a stepdown and medical-surgical setting. The role requires delivering quality patient care during 12-hour night shifts, with a focus on critical monitoring and support for patients on drips and other advanced therapies.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education, and Experience Requirements: WI RN License, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); Associate Degree or Certificate required; BSN strongly preferred; 1-2+ years of ICU or IMU experience preferred; experience with EPIC charting within the last year
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, start time at 7:00 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Additional Job Information: The role involves working within a rural hospital with a higher acuity stepdown/med/surg patient population, averaging 12-18 patients per shift with patient ratios generally around 1:5, up to 1:7 on busier days. This position may require float coverage within the facility and to other facilities within a 60-mile radius.
• Required Qualifications: The candidate must have a WI RN License, AHA BLS certification, NIHSS certification, at least 1-2+ years of ICU or IMU experience, and be comfortable with patients on drips and higher acuity care.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with critical access hospitals and stepdown units, comfort working with patients on drips, resilient, and adaptable social candidates.
