Job Summary
Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Nurse, MS ONC (Medical Surgical Oncology), Baltimore, MD This role involves providing specialized nursing care on an 18-bed adult Medical Oncology unit, focusing on solid tumor patients. The position requires clinical expertise in adult medical-surgical nursing, with a particular emphasis on oncology patient populations, and includes orientation sessions to familiarize new team members with unit protocols and procedures.
Job Details
- Certifications: RN License, Basic Life Support (BLS), Oncology experience.
- Education and Experience: Current nursing licensure with at least 2 years of recent nursing experience; preferred candidates have Oncology experience, familiarity with Alaris pumps, and Epic electronic medical record system experience.
- Location Requirements: Baltimore, MD.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Responsibilities: Deliver direct patient care, monitor patient conditions, administer medications and treatments, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and document patient progress.
- Orientation: Two orientations are scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must verify previous employment with Johns Hopkins system facilities if applicable, to ensure rehire eligibility.
