Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in the healthcare organization. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care, performing assessments, developing and implementing care plans, and ensuring patient safety. The RN supervises licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, and orientees, and participates in team-based care focused on patient outcomes and safety.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education, and Experience Requirements: BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required prior to first shift; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required prior to first shift (CIRH only); Minimum two (2) years bedside clinical experience.
• Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Performs a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develops an individualized care plan based on the assessment data.
• Provides patient information and status updates for team conferences and documents all assessments, interventions, and responses accurately and timely.
• Participates in the patient rehabilitation program on an assigned unit and ensures direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiates discharge planning from the day of admission and provides patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
• Communicates pertinent patient status changes efficiently to support continuity of care and patient safety, including with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
• Supervises, trains, and delegates tasks to ancillary nursing personnel while organizing work efficiently and prioritizing patient needs.
• Maintains a safe environment for patients and staff, and ensures compliance with safety policies.
• Assumes charge responsibility following orientation and actively pursues professional development through continuing education and self-study.
• Identifies and utilizes resources to meet patient needs, monitors supplies, and promotes cost-effective practices.
