Job Summary
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN Nights, Oakland, CA. This position involves providing specialized critical care to pediatric patients within a Level 1 trauma center. The role requires flexibility to float to other UCSF facilities as needed, ensuring comprehensive patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Certifications: CA RN License, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); 5 years of PICU experience preferred, with additional experience in Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) highly desirable.
• Education Requirements: BSN required for all RN positions.
• Location Requirements: California RN license in hand.
• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: CA RN License, AHA BLS and PALS certifications, 5 years PICU experience (preferred), experience with End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, managing Ports, administering blood & blood products, and more.
• Additional Information: Ability to float between UCSF facilities as needed, with a 24-hour orientation. Travel experience not required.
• Patient Care Responsibilities: Includes managing ventilated patients, arterial line management, central line care, hemodynamic monitoring, neuro and cardiac care in a Level 1 trauma center, with patients ranging from neonates to adolescents.
• Charting System: Epic; refer to UD for requirement status.
• Submittal Requirements: Two references from most recent employer; adherence to RTO policies; confirmation of modules and start date with coordination with the unit manager.
