Job Summary
Medical Surgical (MS) Nurse Nights located in an acute care facility. This role involves providing high-quality patient care on a fast-paced unit with a focus on adult and pediatric medical-surgical telemetry patients.

Job Details

• Position Description:
  Unit notes indicate the orientation begins on 11/3. The successful candidate must have tele experience as well as at least 2-3 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing; pediatric experience is preferred. The unit features 45 beds, combining adult and pediatric telemetry, with common diagnoses including COPD, post-op, GI bleeds, OBGYN surgeries, ortho, sepsis, altered mental status, stroke, cellulitis, and alcohol withdrawal. RNs are required to titrate drips such as Heparin and Protonix, read their own strips, and work a NIGHT shift from 7 PM to 7 AM, averaging 36 hours weekly. Self-scheduling is available with schedules made 30-45 days in advance.
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required; PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred.
• Schedule: Nights, 12 hours shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information:
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5.
  • Nurses may float to telemetry or OB if qualified and willing.
  • Unit utilizes Cerner charting system.
  • Care team includes nurse aids working 8-10 hour shifts.
  • Must be licensed to submit, and previous experience in specialty required.
  • The hospitalist team is onsite 24/7, ensuring prompt support on a high-speed unit where patients typically stay around 3 days.
  • Cancellation policy allows up to 4 shifts canceled per 13-week assignment.
