Job Summary
Medical Surgical Nurse in the Medical Surgical Floor specialty is needed for a fast-paced unit with adult and pediatric patients. The role involves delivering high-quality care to patients with diverse diagnoses, including COPD, post-op recovery, GI bleeds, OBGYN surgeries, ortho, sepsis, stroke, and cellulitis, among others, in a busy hospital environment.

Job Details

• Position Description: Unit notes include orientation starting November 3, with experience in telehealth and medical-surgical nursing essential. The unit has 45 beds, combining adult and pediatric telemetry, with a focus on quick patient turnover and high acuity.
• Required Qualifications: Valid licensure, BLS certification, ACLS certification (AHA), PALS preferred; minimum of 2 years of experience in the specialty; experience with pediatric patients, if applicable; and ability to work 12-hour days, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Schedule: 12-hour days, every other week, with scheduled shifts approximately 30-45 days in advance.
• Additional Information: Unit utilizes Cerner charting system. Telemetry monitors are used, but reading strips is not required for RNs. Charge nurses may lead shifts without patient assignments. Tech support available during shifts. Floating to other specialties such as telemetry or obstetrics is optional for experienced staff.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must have the appropriate licensure to submit and must be able to start on November 3, 2026, with an assignment lasting until February 2, 2027.
