Job Summary
Telemetry Nurse, Night Shift, in the healthcare provider setting, provides specialized nursing care to Cardiovascular (TELE) patients during overnight hours. This role involves managing medical conditions such as myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, peripheral vascular disease, and overflow from medical-surgical units. The position requires a commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Shift: Nights, 7PM - 7AM, 36 hours per week with guaranteed hours
- Required Certifications, Education, and Experience: BLS certification from AHA, ACLS certification from AHA, RN License in the state of employment or a compact license, 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
- Responsibilities: Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process; administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side-effects and effectiveness; document patient history and care; assess learning needs; educate patients, families, and caregivers; make appropriate clinical assignments and delegations; address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients in accordance with scope of practice
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Additional Information: All newly hired experienced RNs must attend new nurses orientation within the first 30 days of hire. Precepted by trained staff as part of onboarding, including competency validation. Completion of annual competency verification is required.
