Description

Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse - Tacoma, WA. This position involves providing high-acuity emergency care within a Level II Trauma Center and high-volume environment. The ER nurse will be responsible for delivering comprehensive emergency services to a diverse patient population, including pediatrics to geriatrics, with a focus on trauma, sepsis, stroke, and other critical conditions.

Job Details

Position: ER Nurse
Location: Tacoma, WA
Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
Schedule: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM or 9:00 PM - 9:00 AM depending on the schedule rotation)
Start Date: 10/19/2026
End Date: 01/16/2027
Certification Requirements: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB, Traveler Competency Exam
Education/Experience: 1 year of strong Emergency Department (ED) experience, relevant certifications, and general ED skills including cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, med administration, procedural sedation, and blood administration.
Additional Responsibilities: Assisting ER techs with glucose checks, splinting, and supporting charge nurse. May support resource/float staffing as needed.
Support Systems: EMR system (Epic), telemetry monitoring, IV pumps, Pyxis medication system, and 24/7 support including security, pharmacy, and house supervision.
Orientation: 1st day includes badge/EPIC training, meeting with educator, and a 12-hour shift with a preceptor.
Float: None required.
Scrub Color: Any professional color.
Other notes: Modest/stud earrings, non-offensive tattoos, free parking, up to 5 days off, holiday coverage.
