Job Summary
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) specialist in a high-acuity cardiovascular and thoracic program is sought for a position starting October 5, 2026, through January 4, 2027. This role involves supporting a nationally-recognized cardiovascular and thoracic team with a fast-paced, complex environment requiring highly-skilled, experienced staff who can scrub in and work with multiple surgeons.

Job Details

• Position Description: Must have cardiovascular (CV) experience, specifically 3 years of CV scrub experience, and be able to go "on bypass."
• Certifications, Education & Experience: BLS Certification, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA Certificate; minimum of 2 years' experience.
• Specialty: Operating Room (OR) Open Heart.
• Schedule: Rotating shifts with 10-hour shifts, totaling a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Shift & Hours: Variable day and evening shift hours; mandatory call with a response time of 30 minutes; availability for all shifts including weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
• Additional Requirements: Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with approximately 25 surgeons, pulling from prior experience to support complex cases including CABG, MVR, AVR, kidney transplant, robotics, peripheral vascular, thoracic, aortic repair, vascular access, hybrid procedures (TEVAR/EVAR, TAVR), Impella, IABP, ECMO.
• Additional Notes: Must be able to work in a high acuity, fast-paced environment; hospital provides scrubs; parking costs approximately $15+ per day; shifts are subject to cancelation up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting system used is EPIC; no BSN required; no license submission required.
