L&D Postpartum Floor Nurse Night Shift Location unspecified. The role includes working a schedule of 12-hour night shifts with designated weekend and holiday shifts, supporting the clinical team in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Job Details

• Position Description:
  The role involves delivering postpartum nursing care in a specialized unit with 22-30 beds, managing postpartum patients including those with common obstetric conditions and medications. The unit is equipped with 24/7 pharmacy and respiratory support, with hospitalist and pediatrician coverage available around the clock. The nurse will participate in unit-specific orientation over three shifts and is expected to adhere to hospital policies, including COVID vaccination documentation and a pass/fail simulation lab on day one.

• Required Qualifications:
  Certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program); valid nursing license; minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in obstetric or postpartum care; experience with Cerner electronic medical records; ability to work nights with scheduled weekends and holiday shifts; and compliance with hospital vaccination policies.

• Schedule:
  Night shifts run from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, averaging 36 hours per week. The schedule requires working three weekend shifts, two of the three major holidays, and includes the potential for crossing campus to support postpartum patients in different units if needed.

• Additional Information:
  Nurses will work in a unit with typical postpartum diagnoses, managing medications such as Mag sulfate, antibiotics, and hypertensive therapies. The environment is equipped for immediate response with 24/7 RT and pharmacy services. The float policy is limited to competent cross-unit support, primarily within the postpartum specialty.
