Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse position is available at the healthcare provider in Wisconsin. This role involves coordinating nursing care for patients presenting to the Emergency Department across all age groups, from pediatric to geriatric. The position requires performing all aspects of direct patient care, including assessments, documentation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient and compassionate emergency care.

Job Details

• Position: Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse
• Location: Wisconsin
• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Two-year degree in nursing; current Wisconsin Registered Nursing license or active Compact Licensure; current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications; 2+ years relevant work experience
• Perform age-appropriate assessments and provide safe, effective care to all ages
• Conduct triage according to the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) five-level triage process
• Document patient care accurately in compliance with legal standards, reflecting all nursing activities and patient responses
• Collaborate with providers, peers, ancillary departments, and outside agencies to optimize patient outcomes
• Prioritize patient needs to ensure timely and quality care delivery, enhancing patient flow
• Advocate for patients by effective communication and utilization of the chain of command as needed
• Complete all required educational, audit, and in-service activities timely
• Assess patient and family discharge needs and communicate effectively
• Respond to emergency situations calmly and efficiently, utilizing crisis protocols, and perform treatments including medication administration and emergency resuscitation
• Safely insert and administer IV fluids, blood, blood products, and other parenteral fluids
• Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring all checklists and stock levels are completed before shift end
• Participate in educational activities for pre-hospital emergency providers and students
• Demonstrate proficiency in computerized documentation of patient care
• Additional information: The role entails performing all duties as assigned in a high-stress, fast-paced environment, emphasizing accuracy, teamwork, and patient advocacy
