Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) Location unspecified. This position involves providing specialized care in a busy, high-acuity ICU setting, with recent experience in a similar environment preferred. The role requires flexibility for floating to different units as needed, and candidates must be prepared to work 12-hour day shifts.

Job Details

• Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in ICU or cardiovascular specialized care.
• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week, with six weekend shifts in a six-week schedule and willingness to work major holidays.
• Responsibilities: Providing patient care to high-acuity cardiac and trauma patients, including those with LVAD, heart transplants, and on vasoactive drips. Managing titratable and set rate drips, operating critical RT (Respiratory Therapy) equipment such as ventilators, Cpap, and BiPap, and utilizing EPIC electronic charting system. Managing patient conditions involving LVAD support, CRRT/SLED, Impella, and IABP.
• Additional Notes: First to float depending on competency; orientation includes 2-3 shifts with preceptors. Must be flexible for scheduling, including rotating weekends and working in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be open to working with a tele-ICU model, if applicable, and following dress code requirements of teal scrubs.
• Submission Requirements: License to submit; willing to wait for license processing.
• Patient Care Environment: High-acuity, trauma, and cardiovascular patients, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 or occasionally 1:1, characterized by complex, rapidly changing medical conditions.
