Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) This healthcare organization is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for a 12-hour shift position in a general medicine/internal medicine unit. The role involves providing patient care to a lower acuity population with a variety of diagnoses, including infections, cellulitis, abd pain, and transition patients. The RN will be responsible for IV starts, blood draws, and bedside monitoring, contributing to a collaborative care environment.

Job Details:

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (required for floating purposes)
• Education and Experience: Valid RN license, minimum of 3 years of relevant experience preferred
• Location Requirements: Ability to work in the specified healthcare setting without geographic restrictions
• Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts, days or nights, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM; minimum of 48 hours per week
• Additional Responsibilities: Must be proficient with IV starts and blood draws; perform blood draws and IV starts primarily; responsible for interpreting basic EKGs and managing cardiac drips
• Float Requirements: Must float to medical-surgical/telemetry acuity floors and pass tele competency and EKG exams
• Clinical Skills: Capable of managing titratable IV medications such as heparin and Lasix; perform blood draws and IV placements with strong general medicine/internal medicine background
• Orientation: Two-day classroom training followed by on-floor shadowing and patient care responsibilities
• PPE and Uniform: Scrubs provided; specific color navy
• Charting System: Epic electronic health record system experience preferred
• Additional Notes: Role includes rotating weekend and holiday shifts; comment on the possibility of performing basic EKG interpretation and cardiac drips as part of floating duties*
