Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) nurse position available in an acute care setting. This role involves caring for high-risk pregnancies, including patients requiring high-risk delivery interventions such as Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and insulin drips. The assignment offers an opportunity to work in a busy center that handles approximately 200 births per month, with a focus on high-risk obstetric cases.

Job Details

• Location: Not specified; working in a high-volume, acute care hospital setting.
• Shift: 12-hour days, every other weekend, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Schedule: 36 hours per week, with a start date of 10/19/2026 and an end date of 01/18/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications include NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and advanced fetal monitoring. Education and licensure requirements include a valid license to submit. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, with specific experience in high-risk deliveries and familiarity with medications like Pitocin, mag sulfate, and insulin drips.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-risk deliveries, including use of fetal monitoring systems.
• Additional Information: Unit has 12 beds with 10 triage beds, and handles approximately 200 births per month. The facility employs advanced fetal monitoring systems and follows AWHONN guidelines, with in-house 24/7 neonatologist and OB attending coverage. Nurses may be required to scrub in for C-sections, assist in deliveries, and help stock supplies. Floating to antepartum and postpartum units may be necessary. Sterile scrub attire is required, with a three-shift orientation on the unit.
