Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse in Salem, VA. This position involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency department. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care to patients with diverse urgent medical needs.

Job Details

• Location: Salem, VA
• Specialty: Emergency Room (ER)
• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; 2-3 travel assignments completed; 2-3 years of ER experience; candidates with these qualifications will be considered first.
• Responsibilities include managing high-acuity cases such as RSI, Sepsis interventions, Stroke protocol with tPA administration, central line placement, psych patient care, and transfers under EMTALA regulations.
• Typical unit staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 5 registered nurses, and 2-3 medics per shift, with patient ratios of 4-6:1.
• Uniform: Navy blue or white scrubs.
• No on-call duties; weekends include four shifts over a four-week period, scheduled on Fridays or Saturdays for night shifts and Saturday or Sunday for day shifts.
• Must have a relaxed, easy-going, friendly, team-oriented, and respectful personality.
