Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in Richmond, VA. This role involves providing high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced hospital environment. The position requires a dedicated professional with a focus on critical thinking and patient safety, working night shifts to support the emergency department's operations.
Job Details
- Position Description: Emergency Room Nurse supporting a busy emergency department with 24 beds and 5 fast track areas, utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) Meditech. The role involves functioning in a dynamic environment with varying staff shifts and patient volumes, including float responsibilities.
- Required Qualifications: Certified as a Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) provider. Education requirements include a valid nursing degree, with a minimum of 0 years of experience. Candidate must possess a current license and meet all state requirements for practicing as a registered nurse.
- Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, with an expectation of at least 36 hours per week.
- Preferred Qualifications: Certification or experience with the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPCC), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) are considered advantageous.
- Additional Information: The emergency department operates with a variable staff model, including techs and paramedics, and requires candidates to be hardworking, capable of critical thinking, and outgoing. The dress code for the role is navy scrubs. Candidates may be asked to work weekends and participate in alternating on-call shifts if necessary.
