Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position located in Sacramento. This role involves providing specialized care to critically ill patients in a medical and surgical ICU environment. The position requires a focus on patient safety, monitoring, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care.

Job Details

• Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association, Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association, and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Education and Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required; active RN license needed at time of submission.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Includes working four weekend shifts within a four-week period, with holiday rotations aligned with core staff.
• Responsibilities: Managing patients with diagnoses including non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (non-STEMI), cerebrovascular accident (CVA), multiorgan failure (MOF), sepsis, respiratory failure, and post-operative complications. Performing bedside procedures such as transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs) and bronchoscopies. Conducting multidisciplinary rounds on days.
• Additional requirements: Self-scheduling availability; comfortable with complex patient cases, including comfort care patients. Ability to interpret EKG strips and read and interpret electronic fetal monitoring (EFM). Floating to other Sacramento facilities may occur.
• Clinical Environment: Utilizes Cerner electronic charting system; hospitalist or intensivist in-house; 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services.
