Job Summary
The Emergency Room (ER) nurse position is located in a Level 3 trauma, stroke, and STEMI certified healthcare facility. This role involves providing critical care to a diverse patient population, including adult and pediatric patients, with various urgent and emergent health conditions. The ER team manages approximately 50-55 patients daily, requiring quick assessment, treatment, and collaboration with medical staff.

Job Details

• Position: ER Nurse
• Location: [Generic location of the healthcare facility]
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC, TNCC, CPI (required)
• Education & Experience: Minimum of 1 year ER nursing experience; ability to read and interpret tele monitors independently; team player; strong communication skills; preferred rural/community hospital experience
• Schedule: Rotating day and night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Responsibilities:
  • Providing direct patient care in a high acuity setting
  • Monitoring and interpreting tele monitors with Phillips equipment independently
  • Managing critical care drips such as nitro, levo, insulin, and cardizem
  • Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Assisting with procedures including phlebotomy, vital signs, and EKGs
  • Triage and treatment within the ER environment
• Additional Information:
  • Self-scheduling utilizing a balanced shift system
  • No call or standby requirements
  • Must complete Epic training and a brief orientation period
  • Experience working in a small-town hospital environment preferred
  • Wear navy blue scrubs
