Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse working in an acute care hospital environment. This position involves providing specialized care to neonatal patients, including attending high-risk deliveries and performing neonatal resuscitations, with a focus on vulnerable newborns requiring intensive medical attention.

Job Details

• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Education and Experience: At least 1 year of recent NICU experience, with a minimum of 3 years of overall nursing experience; valid state license required (compact license accepted); experience with Level III neonatal units preferred
• Location Requirements: Candidate must be located outside a 50-mile radius and not eligible for local acceptance
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Responsibilities include administering blood and blood products, medication management, APGAR scoring, arterial line management, high-risk delivery attendance, neonatal assessments, respiratory support, and family teaching
• Additional relevant duties: Management of chest tubes, thermoregulation, neonatal sepsis workup, starting and maintaining IVs, and operation of special equipment such as UAC and UVC
• Flexibility requirements: Float rotation may be required, and candidates must be willing to work 3 of the 5 major holidays, with all specific scheduling requests submitted during application
