Job Summary
Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Nurse in St. Louis, Missouri. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to adult oncology patients undergoing auto stem cell transplants and chemotherapy administration in a magnet and teaching hospital. The role requires flexibility to float within the oncology department and adherence to strict safety and clinical protocols.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education, and Experience: Valid ACLS, BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), and ONS/ONCC certifications required. Minimum of 1 year of relevant oncology experience, including administration of chemotherapy, accessing and managing ports, blood and blood product administration, central line care, IV starts, Foley catheter management, isolation precautions, telemetry interpretation and monitoring. Active registration/licensing in Missouri or Illinois as applicable.
• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Skills: Oncology experience, chemotherapy administration, port management, blood/blood product infusion, central line care, telemetry interpretation, IV therapy, use of PPE and isolation protocols, recognition of side effects and complications, patient assessment, and emergency response skills, including management of adverse reactions and dysrhythmias.
• Additional Information: Floating within service line is required; will not always work on a specific unit. The role involves auto stem cell transplants, chemotherapy, and management of complications from blood cancers such as GVHD. The position is located in a short-term acute care magnet and teaching hospital with a total bed capacity of 1,266. The shift includes orientation and compliance requirements for certifications and modules, with a firm contract length from October 26, 2026, to January 25, 2027.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must have active licensure in Missouri or Illinois at the time of submittal and meet all compliance deadlines.
