Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse Location: Not Specified. This role involves providing specialized critical care in an ICU setting, with a focus on higher-level neuro, cardiac, PCI, sepsis, and stroke patients. The position requires active engagement in daily patient care, utilizing advanced monitoring and treatment protocols to support patients with complex clinical needs.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); license to submit; minimum of 2 years of ICU experience; applicable to the ICU specialty; located in the specified area; schedule includes 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, every other weekend, with float requirements.
• Additional Information: Candidates must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays, with a rotation schedule. Unit features include a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1, no patient assignment for charge nurses, and resources such as a hospitalist or intensivist in-house. The role involves caring for higher-level neuro, cardiac, PCI, sepsis, ETOH, and stroke patients, with use of vents, drips (pressors, antiarrhythmics, sedation), and ICP monitoring. Orientation includes 8 hours with an ICU educator and a 4-hour preceptorship followed by a 12-hour day with a preceptor on Day 2. The hospital accommodates a no acrylic nails or gel polish policy during the assignment.
