Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Days 36 hours/week Starting 10/12/2026. This role involves providing high-quality patient care, performing comprehensive assessments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. The RN will also supervise ancillary nursing personnel and promote patient and employee safety.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift; ACLS Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY); Minimum Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience; PCU/Critical Care Experience highly desired; specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU); Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week; Start date: 10/12/2026; End date: 01/11/2027.
• Performs a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized plan of care.
• Provides patient information and status updates during team conferences and maintains accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and responses.
• Participates in patient rehabilitation programs and is responsible for direct patient care using the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care with a focus on patient and family education.
• Initiates discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicates effectively regarding changes in patient status to support continuity of care and patient safety, including with physicians and the charge nurse.
• Provides direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, utilizing problem-solving, prioritization, and delegation skills.
• Ensures personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital and nursing policies.
• Maintains communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and training needs.
• Performs duties related to clinical judgment and patient care while promoting quality outcomes.
• Assumes charge responsibility following orientation as requested.
• Identifies opportunities for professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
• Prioritizes activities and manages time effectively to meet patient needs.
