Job Details

• Position Description: Telemetry Nurse working in a cardiac-focused unit with 14 beds on the South side and 8 beds on the East side, providing care for stable, non-titrating patients such as those on Cardizem, Amio, or Heparin. The unit operates with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, using Cerner electronic medical records.
• Required Qualifications: Licensure to submit, current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar setting. The shift is 12 hours, starting at 6:45 PM, with a schedule of 36 hours per week, working every other weekend and rotating holidays.
• Preferred Qualifications: Ability to read and interpret EKG strips, flexible team member skill set, and experience working in a telemetry unit with cardiac patient care.
• Additional Information: During orientation, candidates will have 1-2 days on the floor with a preceptor. The unit supports self-scheduling, and flexibility is essential. There is first to float to other units, with specific orientation related to telemetry protocols. The hospital maintains a 24/7 pharmacy and respiratory therapy support, with hospitalist or intensivist available.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must have their Dysrhythmia Exam (Basic) through UNA completed within 24-48 hours of acceptance, with documentation sent along with acceptance and clear test attempts.
