Description
Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse located in downtown Austin. This position involves providing direct nursing care within a Level 1 trauma teaching emergency department. The role includes implementing and monitoring patient care plans, assessing patient conditions, and coordinating discharge planning as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Job Details
- Position Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Ensures compliance with safety and infection control standards.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse credential from the Texas Board of Nursing. Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire, Basic Life Support within 1 month of hire, Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire, and instructor certifications in Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support as specified. Experience requirement: 0 years.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: The unit features a 53-bed emergency department with a high patient volume, a physician and nursing residency program, and a diverse staffing team including nurses, clerks, transporters, and PCTs. Use of Cerner electronic health record system is standard, and staff typically wear navy scrubs.
