Job Summary
ICU Nurse, Portsmouth, NH This role involves providing specialized nursing care in an 18-bed Interventional Care Unit within a general hospital setting. The position requires managing cardiac procedure patients, including STEMI, NSTEMI, PCI s, and post-Cath lab nursing care, with a focus on high-quality patient outcomes and collaboration with the healthcare team.

Job Details

• Position Description: ICU nurse responsible for caring for cardiac procedure patients, including chest pain assessment, CHF, COPD management, chest tubes, hi-flow and Bi-pap, Pericardiocentesis, Thoracentesis, PD, Trachs, Pacemakers, and CIWA.
• Certifications and Education Requirements: CPR certification (BLS), ACLS, VA license or Compact license at submission, and must have at least 2 years of hospital setting experience.
• Schedule: Dayshift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in telemetry, advanced procedural skills, and experience with the specified equipment such as IV pumps, Sara steady s, Bipap, Kangaroo pumps, and Hoyer lifts.
• Additional Responsibilities: Conduct bedside shift rounds, ensure handoff communication, and foster personal connections with patients.
• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIH).
• Unit Specifics: The unit is a designated Stemi Hospital and Stroke Center, Level II Trauma Center. It employs a team-based staffing model with 5 RN teams, includes unit-specific policies, and has received recognition such as Unit of Distinction.
