Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in a Level 3 maternity unit. The role involves providing comprehensive care to obstetrical patients, managing labor and delivery processes, postpartum care, and neonatal care in a busy hospital setting. This position requires at least two years of relevant experience, preferably in an LDRP model, with proficiency in labor, delivery, postpartum, cesarean section circulation, and special care nursery procedures.
Job Details
- Position: RN Labor and Delivery (L&D)
- Location: Hospital setting with a Level 3 maternity unit
- Days & Hours: Nights, 6:45 PM 7:15 AM, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery; experience in LDRP and postpartum care; ability to manage a three-couplet patient assignment; skilled in triage, use of external fetal heart monitoring, and newborn assessment
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Level 1 nursery, mother/baby care, and circulating for cesarean sections
- Responsibilities: Triage of obstetrical patients, use of external fetal heart monitoring (EFM), manage epidural anesthesia and pain assessments, assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, newborn assessments, and postpartum care
- Additional Information: No float rotation required, unit census ranges from 3 to 24 patients, and standard obstetrical equipment such as EFM, radiant warmers, and fetal monitoring devices are used.
