Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse in en_US This role involves providing high-quality nursing care within the designated unit, focusing on patient safety and optimal outcomes. The nurse will oversee patient assessments, care planning, and discharge processes while collaborating closely with the healthcare team to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.

Job Details

• Shift Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
• Certifications: BLS Certification required prior to first shift; ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH only)
• Experience: Minimum two (2) years bedside clinical experience; recent critical care experience
• Responsibilities:
  • Performs nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission.
  • Develops and updates individualized care plans based on assessments and patient needs.
  • Provides timely patient information for team conferences and documentation in the medical record.
  • Participates in patient rehabilitation programs and ensures effective discharge planning.
  • Communicates changes in patient status to team members to support continuity of care and safety.
  • Supervises and trains ancillary nursing staff, delegating appropriately.
  • Ensures personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital and nursing policies.
  • Contributes to a positive work environment through team-building activities and calm direction.
  • Manages supply use and clinical documentation efficiently.
  • Assumes charge responsibility following orientation as needed.
  • Pursues ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.
  • Performs additional duties as requested.
