Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in a healthcare facility located within an Emergency Department (ED) setting. This role involves providing high-quality patient care for all age groups, managing high-acuity cases such as stroke, sepsis, and orthopedic injuries, and supporting the trauma and stroke center operations. The position requires a dedicated team player with a passion for emergency medicine.
Job Details
- Position Description: This role involves working in an Emergency Department with a focus on high-acuity patient care including chest pain, abdominal pain, ENT emergencies, behavioral health, and more. The unit utilizes TeleHealth technology and focuses on purposeful rounding. There is no clinical involvement outside of patient care duties, and candidates must pass a pass/fail exam during orientation.
- Certifications Required: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), HSS Team (workplace violence training).
- Required Qualifications: Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC; current license to practice; 2 years of ER experience; ability to work nights; and a valid drivers license.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Utilization of EPIC electronic medical record system, IV Pumps (Alaris), and a focus on teamwork, compassion, and enthusiasm for emergency medicine. Shifts include self-scheduling opportunities, with upfront RTO requests limited to 7 days or less per contract.
- Note: Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility and may not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any organization associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity. Artificial nails are prohibited in clinical areas.
