Job Summary
Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) Location: Overlook. This position involves providing high-quality patient care on a Medical Surgical Floor. The role encompasses assessment, clinical skills, documentation, patient education, and safety, supporting a collaborative healthcare environment to meet patient needs effectively during scheduled shifts.

• Position Description:
  Employs assessment skills with comprehensive knowledge of growth and development from Pediatric to Geriatric populations, delivering appropriate patient care. Performs systematic and accurate assessments, supports team-based patient care, and demonstrates proficiency with emergency equipment and procedures. Maintains complete documentation in alignment with guidelines, actively contributing to patient progress tracking and education. Demonstrates professional responsibility, adheres to policies, and promotes patient satisfaction by responding courteously and maintaining confidentiality. Follows safety protocols, including Universal Protocol and patient identification procedures, and uses safe transfer techniques. Displays knowledge of surgical patient conditions, procedures, and equipment, customizing care according to anesthesia type and surgical phase, while assessing patient reactions and understanding. Contributes to perioperative teamwork by prioritizing care based on patient needs and condition changes, conducting pre- and post-operative assessments, and performing patient education. Supports completion of patient testing, evaluating Pre Admission Testing orders for appropriateness and omissions.
  Physical requirements are as defined by occupational safety standards, with schedule notes indicating shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with 12-hour shift hours and a minimum of 36 hours per week.

• Required Qualifications:
  Certification as an RN, graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred), valid RN license, BLS certification, and 1 year of nursing experience.
