Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse Located in an unspecified region, this position involves providing specialized patient care in a 25-bed hospital unit. The role supports patients with neuro trauma, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and trauma cases, with a focus on acute medical and surgical needs, requiring experienced healthcare professionals to deliver quality care across a dynamic environment.

Job Details

• Certifications: AHA/Active American Heart Association or ARC/AMERICAN RED CROSS ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred and can be obtained during onboarding.
• Education & Experience: Must have 24 months of current Medical Surgical, Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), Stepdown, or Progressive Care experience in a hospital or medical center setting; neurology/neurosurgery care experience required; orthopedics and trauma care experience highly preferred.
• Licenses & Requirements: Active Iowa or Iowa multistate license required; valid drivers license necessary.
• Shift Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 48 hours per week.
• Responsibilities: The candidate may need to float across multiple campuses including Iowa Methodist and Iowa Lutheran, and will participate in quick candidate interviews via phone or text.
• Additional Information: Candidates must have completed at least one travel assignment within the past 12 months, with no previous employment of UPH employees in the last 12 months at any location. The job involves working 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed.
